Z系列是MIT所推出來解決電源污染問題的產品，主要使用MIT Filterpoles技術，MIT表示最好消除電源中不必要噪訊的方法就是在那頻率的附近產生非常低的阻抗變成噪訊消除極(attenuation pole)，就電源來說，就是除了50~60Hz電源頻率外的頻率，而最好的方式就是使用調校的平行線路在負載附近(Parallel AC filtering)，MIT在1993年取得這項技術的專利。

Z系列除了可消除不必要的燥訊外，還有"PFC" (Power
Factor Correction)技術，透過控制AC正弦波的向位角來使電源使用達到最大效率，提升功率因素(POWER FACTOR)，MIT亦在1993年取得這項專利。

所以這樣就很清楚本次試聽的產品那個等級比較高了，Shotgun Z Trap使用了3組Filterpoles，導體為.999999純銅與100%的屏蔽，而較高等級的Magnum Z Trap使用了6組Filterpoles，導體為極純的OCC單結晶無氧銅，並使用雙層的屏蔽，電源母頭也比較高級。
