Release notes Olive 4/4HD and Olive 2

Olive 4 and 2 were formerly named Opus 4 and Melody 2.
Changes in software version O.4.1.1 and M.4.1.1, released 01/28/10

New Features


  • Redesigned popup-menu for the play screen with the ability to burn/delete a complete album and create a new playlist
  • Redesigned popup-menu for when a CD is inserted with the option to eject the CD
  • The Olive 4 can now be accessed with iTunes (note: FLAC is not supported by iTunes)
  • MAESTRO Software
    • An alphabet jump for the artwork view is now available
    • Possibility to change the artwork within the edit section within the tab “Recording”
    • Tracks are accessible and editable within their own list
    • A search has been implemented for artists, albums, tracks and playlists
    • The order of tracks within a playlist can be changed
    • Songs can be deleted from a playlist

Improvements and bug fixes


  • Enhanced internet radio playback of stations with weaker connection
  • Autoeject of CDs after ripping/burning
  • Overall burning feature has improved in handling logic
  • The detailed information in the playscreen has increased in length and has been altered to accommodate for Twonky
  • The European time is applied consistently to all appropriate languages
  • The popup confirmation after a CD has been ripped now stays to pass on the information properly
  • Tracks are now all sorted by their original track number
  • MAESTRO software
    • Tracks of a playlist are now all listed in one set
    • no more limitation to 64 items within an album/work
    • Scrolling performance improvements within the artwork view specially for huge libraries

Improvements and bug fixes


  • Improved burning process of HD Tracks (note: 24bit WAV Files are not supported yet)
  • Enhanced music playback of HD Tracks (Hyperion)
  • Metadata of mp3 tracks ripped with iTunes is imported to the Olive
  • Shuffle algorithm changed in order to prevent the playback from stopping after a few songs
  • HDMI video out on certain LCD and Plasma TVs should not tear or jitter any more

New Features


  • Digital-in playback pauses local playback when selected and is resumed whenever user decides to disconnect digital-in source
  • Analog volume level and mute setting is preserved when user switches from local to digital-in playback
