The Berliner Philharmoniker give a benefit concert for Haiti


The earthquake in Haiti on the 12 January has mostly disappeared from the news headlines, but there is still abject poverty in this devastated country. It is the children in particular who are suffering. On 20 February, the Berliner Philharmoniker, Sir Simon Rattle and pianist Mitsuko Uchida are giving a benefit concert which will be broadcast live, worldwide in the Digital Concert Hall. All proceeds from the concert and the webcast will be donated to UNICEF’s emergency assistance for children in Haiti.

The concert includes Beethoven’s Fourth Piano Concerto, which concludes Mitsuko Uchida’s current cycle of the composer’s complete piano concertos. Also to be performed: Sibelius’s Second Symphony and Györgyi Ligeti’s San Francisco Polyphony.

The Berliner Philharmoniker have been an international UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2007. In our video, Simon Rattle and Mitsuko Uchida invite you to watch the concert and give to a good cause by buying a ticket for the Digital Concert Hall:

前幾天在rip cd時發現這張很久沒聽的cd
竟發覺雨天聽起來特別有感覺
