I like the tenor in this one. Quite different from other versions that I have.

Now, this version used baritone instead. Quite different.

Gustav Mahler: Das Lied von der Erde; Jascha Horenstein; Alfreda Hodgson; John Mitchinson (Descant)
OK, I am a freak. But, this one is, again, quite different from the others. Horenstein was a great Mahler conductor.

Now, this one is special. This is by far the version I like most. Both the vocalists were amazing. The conductor might not be very well known but was definitely a great Mahler conductor to me.

You probably have this one already if you liked Mahler. Kubelik was a great conductor but probably lesser known. Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra is also a great ensemble. In fact, I personally like quite a few German regional orchestras. They are definitely no worse than BPO or VPO.

Mahler Symphony No. 1 by Bruno Walter and Columbia Symphony Orchestra.

This version is one of the favorite versions for me. The pacing is different from other versions but gives you a whole different view for this work.
The recorded sound was excellent, too.

Mahler Symphony no. 3. Cond: Berstein with NYPO

I like this version better than his remake on DG. The recorded sound may not be top-notched but the interpretation was a great one to me.

Bernstein Century - Mahler: Symphonies no 2 & 8 (Part 1),

Bernstein was a great conductor. This version was one of my favorite versions for Mahler no.2. The recorded sound was fairly good to me. The part 1 of no. 8 was performed in memory of JFK.

Mahler: Symphony No. 1 [IMPORT] [ORIGINAL RECORDING REISSUED]
Gustav Mahler (Composer), James Judd (Conductor), Florida Philharmonic Orchestra

A very interesting version. This one was recorded by Peter McGrath (sp?) who is now the marketing guy for Wilson Audio.
