4. 誰 與 爭 峰 的 寶 麗 金 Dragon Studio

投 資 超 過 二 千 萬 的 錄 音 有 幾 靚 聲 ﹖ 除 了 要 上 寶 麗 金 的 Dragon Studio 找 出 答 案 外 ﹐ 在 香 港 都 幾 難 找 到 第 二 間 ！ 而 且 都 好 想 知 道 點 解 要 用 上 二 千 萬 這 個 天 文 數 字 的 投 資 ﹖ 最 重 要 的 ﹐ 反 而 是 用 得 值 不 值 ﹖ 作 者 亦 記 得 以 前 在 嘉 利 大 廈 的 寶 麗 金 錄 音 室 有 甚 麼 設 備 ﹐ 今 次 獨 家 訪 問 ﹐ 亦 可 以 作 一 次 新 舊 比 較 。
作 者 今 次 又 與 樂 評 人 杜 廣 深 先 生 ﹐ 再 次 雙 龍 出 海 ﹐ 深 入 Dragon Studio ﹐ 實 地 考 証 。 更 訪 問 資 深 的 寶 麗 金 錄 音 師 林 永 祥 先 生 。 講 出 大 家 錄 音 的 心 得 時 ﹐ 那 種 喜 悅 和 痛 苦 ！ 帶 來 無 限 的 會 心 微 笑 。 寂 寞 的 錄 音 路 途 上 ﹐ 又 遇 上 同 路 人 ﹐ 真 是 人 生 大 快 事 。

整 個 Dragon Studio 分 十 一 個 部 份 ﹐ 有 Lobby ﹐ Tape Store Room ﹐ 兩 個 Sound Locks ﹐ Machine Room ﹐ Editing Room ﹐ VIP Room ﹐ Control Room B ﹐ Control Room A 和 Studio A 。 當 然 ﹐ 首 先 走 入 Control Room A ﹐ 立 刻 眼 前 一 亮 ﹐ 那 座 Studer D940 Digital Mixing Console ﹐ 耀 目 眼 前 ﹐ 再 加 上 Studer D827 ﹐ 48 Track Digital Open-Reel Recorder ﹐ 立 刻 知 道 寶 麗 金 由 以 前 Analog 時 代 ﹐ 走 進 Digital 的 新 紀 元 ﹐ 不 過 ﹐ 不 知 要 等 到 何 時 才 走 進 更 高 的 Digital Tapeless Studio 的 境 界 。 講 到 用 Mic 方 面 ﹐ 真 是 無 堅 不 吹 ﹐ 例 如 Neumann M149 Tube Mic ﹐ U87Ai ﹐AKG the tube ﹐ etc ﹐ 而 Mic Preamp 方 面 ﹐ 有 Solid State 的 Amek The System 9098 Mic Preamp by Rupert Neve ﹐ 而 tube 方 面 有 Studer D19 Series Mic Valve ﹐ 而 Effectors 方 面 ﹐ 有 Lexicon 480 Version 4 ﹐ Lexicon 240XL ﹐ T.C. Electronic M5000 Digital Audio Mainframe ﹐ Klark-Tehnik DN780 ﹐ Eventide H4000 Harmonizer ﹐ Roland 808 with Controller ﹐ etc. ﹐而 2 Tracks Master Recorders 有 Song PCM9000 True 24bit Digital MO Recorder ﹐ Sony PCM 7030 DAT Recorder with Time Code ﹐ Sony PCM2500 DAT Recorder ﹐Studer A810 Recorder ﹐ 在 Monitors 方 面 ﹐ 更 用 上 ATC 200A Active Monitors 。 Control Room B 除 了 Console 用 Euphonix 2000 Digital Controlling Analog Audio Mixer 之 外 ﹐ 其 他 與 Control A 大 致 相 同 。 Studio A 比 較 大 ﹐ 可 作 Live Band 或 Live Orchestra Recording 之 用 ﹐ Studio B 比 較 細 ﹐ 適 合 Vocal ﹐ 合 唱 ﹐ Solo Instrument ﹐ etc. ﹐ 錄 音 之 用 。

除 了 兩 個 Studio Rooms 和 兩 個 Control Rooms 之 外 ﹐ 還 有 一 個 Editing Room ﹐ 主 要 利 用 Mac Computer ﹐ 用 Digidesign Protools Hard Disk Recording System with Masterlist CD Software 和 Sonic Solution CD Editor ﹐ 把 音 樂 產 品 Edit 好 ﹐ 製 成 CD Master 。 還 有 Machine Room 把 可 以 安 裝 在 Control Rooms 外 的 所 有 器 材 ﹐ 安 裝 在 Machine Room 內 ﹐ 以 減 低 Control Room 內 的 雜 音 和 器 發 出 的 熱 量 ﹐ 更 可 以 令 Control Room A 或 Control Room B 靈 活 行 用 Machine Room 所 有 或 部 份 器 材 。

整 個 音 樂 製 作 ﹐ 由 Producer 選 曲 開 始 ﹐ 選 好 曲 就 找 Arrangers 把 曲 編 好 ﹐ 利 用 Mark of The Unicorn Preformer MIDI Sequencer Software ﹐ 把 選 好 的 樂 器 聲 ﹐ 例 如 Piano, Drums, etc. ﹐由 Synthexizer Modules 和 Samplers Playback ﹐ Sync 著 Studer D827 Digital MTR ﹐ 遂 部 份 部 份 錄 在 Tape 上 ﹐ 然 後 加 上 某 部 份 真 樂 器 演 釋 ﹐ 再 錄 上 主 唱 和 和 唱 部 份 ﹐ 完 成 所 有 錄 音 部 份 後 ﹐ 就 可 以 做 Mixing 完 就 可 以 24 bit digital 直 入 Sony PCM 9000 Digital MO Recorder ﹐ 再 交 給 （天 龍） 著 名 的 Mastersonic 做 Master 。

計 一 計 數 ﹐ 連 Design, Installation, Wiring, etc. ﹐ 再 加 上 所 有 都 是 最 貴 ﹐ 最 好 和 最 State of the Art 的 Studio Equipments ﹐ 過 二 千 萬 就 一 定 要 ﹐ 值 不 值 就 見 人 見 智 。 更 知 道 連 用 Cable 方 面 ﹐ 都 大 部 份 選 用 Van Den Hul Professional Cables 就 更 覺 物 有 所 值 。 首 先 在 Control Room A 試 聽 ﹐ 果 然 有 份 量 ﹐ 再 到 Control Room B 試 聽 ﹐ 都 大 致 相 同 。 試 聽 當 日 ﹐ 還 未 有 音 樂 軟 件 在 此 生 來 ﹐ 所 以 未 能 測 試 。 但 音 樂 製 作 正 在 進 行 中 ﹐ 相 信 日 後 更 多 錄 音 奇 跡 ﹐ 更 多 天 皇 巨 星 ﹐ 更 多 靚 聲 CD, DVD 等 音 樂 軟 件 ﹐ 由 Dragon Studio 製 造 出 來 。

物 盡 其 用 ﹐ 人 盡 其 材 ﹐ 集 天 下 精 英 於 一 身 的 寶 麗 金 ﹐ 用 加 上 天 下 無 敵 的 Dragon Studio ﹐ 點 會 唔 靚 聲 呢 ！ 靚 聲 其 實 已 經 是 必 然 的 事 ﹐ 反 而 能 不 能 做 出 更 好 的 音 樂 ﹐ 才 是 日 後 關 注 的 問 題 。 袛 有 靚 聲 而 無 好 的 音 樂 ﹐ 就 好 像 空 有 形 式 而 無 內 容 ﹐ 令 人 乏 味 ﹐ 一 聽 而 不 可 以 再 聽 ﹐ 甚 麼 過 山 車 ！ 甚 麼 大 砲 ！ 全 都 是 音 效 ﹐ 絕 非 音 樂 。 如 能 夠 把 音 效 安 排 成 為 音 樂 的 arrangement 的 一 部 份 就 非 常 有 趣 ﹐ 而 且 可 以 百 聽 不 厭 ﹐ 例 如 Pink Floyd 的 (Dark Side of the Moon) ﹐ (1812 Overture) etc.。 如 果 袛 有 好 音 樂 而 唔 好 聲 ﹐ 就 算 好 想 去 聽 都 唔 想 聽 。 所 以 ﹐ 好 聲 是 外 表 ﹐ 好 音 樂 是 內 涵 ﹐ 缺 一 不 可 ﹐ 今 次 Dragon Studio 已 把 好 聲 的 外 表 做 到 最 好 ﹐ 好 音 樂 的 內 涵 就 要 更 加 努 力 ﹐ 盡 量 做 到 內 外 兼 備 ﹐ 才 可 以 永 垂 不 朽 。

since 7.2 I cannot come, so as our sales,
then I ask發燒李 to join, but he has to go Jadis central first at 14:00
around 16:00-16；30 he can be at prince edward,
(the thing is since david and soyboy can't come for sharing
I thought the best is to setup another time, but seems阿正兄 is very interested to visit Nelson 4 vintage setup)
but 發燒李is not live at HK, if he miss the place or time, you will be no new angel sharing
pls forgive my schedule are too tide, especially this high season and TIS is alw pack so as my own production other than TIS
So if any ching can pick Mr. Lee up at Jadis central showroom before 15:30, that will be more safe
