Here is an image of our D26 high frequency driver mounted in a flat baffle. The white plastic baffle fits flush into our testing chamber creating a baffle that is flat for about 1.2meters squared.

The size of the recess makes a difference too. The reflections caused by the recess walls will affect different frequencies from the driver. To illustrate this, I increased the diameter of the recess in the baffle, but kept the depth the same:
