求证,这样调试有无问题：W4S DAC2 与金嗓子E550的音量输出组合实验

小弟偶然发现DAC2的音量输出高于DP777 20%。后来小弟把这个现象偶然告诉了一位在computeraudiophile上认识的一位澳洲烧友Gary.Gary叔叔是工程师背景出身，他很不偶然地地向我要了W4SDAC2和E550的英文使用手册，研究了一番，然后上周六发给我邮件告诉我W4S DAC2的输出电压达到5.2V，如果照我先前将其音量调到最大的70 （总共70级），输出到E550会有较大失真。我晕，一直以为音量输出高是美系DAC的优点和特点，所以一直接受中，以为是桃花源，竟然不知有汉，无论魏晋。Gary然后发邮件告诉我了详细的调试办法，用来发现在定量上如何找到DAC2上的合适音量设置。
小弟虽然也是工科出身，但是大学时最讨厌的课程就是电工电子学。对Gary叔叔的建议自然欣然从命。这里也将他的方法展示呈现给诸位，我觉得本论坛有电工工程背景的人较多，希望求证有无问题。
小弟的系统是：
音源:Mac Mini(8G ,crucial M4 256G SSD),W4S DAC2，Amarra mini 2.3.3,Audiophilleo 2+ PurePower数字界面
功放:金嗓子E550,W4S PCOCC XLR线
音箱:皇冠签名3 MK II,Supra Sword跳线
线材:Supra classic 6喇叭线,古河GTX-D(R),熊猫6方电源专线,Nep3001接E550、古河FP-3TS20电源线接DAC2,Auralex Metrofusion扩散吸音板


Amarra set to repeat single track mode and volume level to 0db.
Amarra的音量设置为最大。
Test tone (Recommend 1kHz 30s, wav http://www.mediacollege.com/audio/tone/download/ )
下载一个测试音频的文件，推荐下载1Khz 30秒的这个（盖因我使用SPDIF口输入到DAC，而SPDIF在1Khz以下是处理得最好的）

Follow the steps in sequence:

1.
In the DAC 2 menu, navigate to the Coax Volume Set, to Variable

首先将DAC2的同轴音量输出设置为0-30可变
2.
Set Coax Minimum Volume level to 0

3.
Set Coax Maximum Volume level to 30.
在E550先将连接喇叭的电路断掉，将E550的音量调到一半的位置（5），打开E550的数字仪表（我从来没关过）。

On the E-550, switch the speaker switch to OFF. Set the E550 Volume control to 5 (mid way). Switch the E-550 meters on.

Set Amarra to play the test tone on repeat and play and keep playing until the tests are finished just use iTunes mode maybe, no need for good High Quality techniques for what we need to do.
让amarra反复播放上述的音频文件，可以使用Itunes控制模式。

Observe the meters on the E-550. If they are – INF, they should be, switch the E-550 speaker switch on.
观察E550的显示表，应该在无穷大的位置（没有输出），这是正常的。然后接通与喇叭的连接。
On the DAC2 menu, increase the Coax minimum Volume Level so that you can just hear the tone, and have a look at the meters. Do this at night is the best, less background noise. The meters should just move a little bit, very small amount, say a needle width from - INF. This level is the minimum or floor level the Accuphase input can pickup. Realistically inside it’s a lot more sensitive, but we don’t have oscilloscopes to verify J.
这时开始逐渐调高DAC2的音量，观察E550的仪表，当它开始从无穷大开始动的时候，记录下这个数字，这个音量数字就是金嗓子可以开始接受来自DAC2的输出的临界点，我观察得到的数字是15.

Switch the E-550 speaker to OFF for the next stage. Please double check it’s off!
此时再次断掉E550的喇叭输出。一定注意要断掉！

Go to the DAC2 settings for Coax Maximum Volume level. Watch the meters on the E-550 and increase the coax volume level on the DAC2 in small steps, so that the E-550 meters read 0db (just before they are in the red zone).
这时再逐渐调高DAC2的音量，直到E550的指针到达0db位置（这个位置是E550能够输出的最大安全值，再往后就超出其安全使用范围了）。在这里我发现测得DAC音量数值为53，此时E550的输出达到0db（最大值）。先前，Gary叔叔为了安全起见让我设定DAC2最大为30，在这里我修改了DAC2的最大输出到60 ，测到53这个临界点。
Turn the E-550 volume to minimum and stop play in Amarra. Switch the E-550 speaker switch to on.
Set the DAC2 menu to normal mode, and play some music! You should be able to adjust the levels a lot better and the distortion should come down. However, if you decide not to the use the A2, then you need to go through this procedure again. Just record the levels in the DAC2 for next time to compare.
现在，我将DAC2的输出设置为最小15，最大53.然后将E550的输出先设置为0，开始选择感觉最好的声音匹配组合。但是，由于先前的使用经验，以及在本坛学到的理论知识，我将DAC2的输出设置为53，然后使用E550的音量控制系统音量。


Without a direct measuring instrument, that’s the best we can do, it’s very good that Accuphase includes meters, how do you calibrate anything without them?

没有专门的测试仪器，完全是手动，获得上述结果。听感上感觉有正面改善，还在持续试听中。

但若前後級不夠力，有時輸出大點也是必要的

但W4S DAC2说明书最后一页显示：在音量为56时才输出1V。
难道是金嗓子真的前级不够力？
