May 2012 - Femto - Calyx has launched their new 18.5kg Femto statement DAC ]$6.000] with 2 x coax, 2 x AES/EBU, 1 x BNC, 2 x Toslink and 1 x USB inputs. Analog outputs are on RCA and XLR and two transformers are dedicated for the analog and digital circuitry. Built around an ESS9018 per channel with digital volume enabled via 0.5dB steps, there's claimed dynamic range of 132dB, THD of 0.0001% and RMS jitter of 500 femto seconds. Three selectable digital filters and absolute polarity can be changed from the massive metal remote wand. All inputs support all sampling frequencies from 44.1 to 192kHz. USB is limited to 24 bits, all other inputs support 32 bits.

ForteVita developed the AudioVisore™ to improve every aspect of the preamplifier design and engineering to meet the required quality, both at home and in studio.

This Program Amplifier was designed to be extremely detailed and accurate for the sound engineer evaluating the sound quality in a recording studio, but also incredibly comfortable for the audiophile even after many hours of listening without any perceptible sign of fatigue.

This result was achieved by introducing a unique and peculiar brand-new solid state proprietary technology called MC-SGS (Multiple Control - Single Gain Stage) based upon three different independent and interactive controls represented by the Volume, the Gain and the OverDrive modulating the working point of a single gain stage. Volume regulates the amount of the input signal, Gain determines the I/O Voltage Ratio and Overdrive optimizes the spectrum of the harmonic distortion. MC-SGS technology was implemented upon a fully discrete, Class A design, DC coupled, with no overall Feedback or Feedforward.

This technology enables the AudioVisore™ to finely mould the spectrum of the harmonic distortion as well as the perception of the sound by simply regulating the gain stage with these three controls without affecting the frequency response.

Gediminas Gaidelis is the owner of Audio Solutions, a new speaker company in Lithuania which began in the fall of 2011.

His flagship is the Rhapsody 200, a 5-driver three-way with two 9" woofers and two 15cm midranges which cover 500Hz to 6500Hz to keep the most critical range free of filtering.

The 54kg 1360mm tall cabinet employs four-layer walls and the top, bottom and back panels are 60mm thick, all others 32mm.
The point-to-point crossover is potted in a quartz-sand compound.

Sensitivity is 90.5dB, nominal impedance 3.45 ohms, frequency response is 27 - 25.000Hz.
