The sensational new SME Model 20/3A is already proving to be a worthy successor to the 20/2 with even better performance and it`s more substantial appearance. Very few components of the older model are used with the new machine as it bears more resemblance to the renown Model 20/12 than any previous turntable.

M20/3A is a large performance step forward particularly in respect of detail and dynamic`s. Unfortunately all of these improvement`s have led to a long wait from the factory but we able to supply in mid-March for our new "Silver" version.

The Kronos features multi-layered everything, and employs a suspension that's silicone-damped.

This impressive, multi-level structure utilizes two separate platters which rotate in opposite directions, thus counteracting any centrifugal forces and any attendant torque that might otherwise be transferred to the structure.

我個人的主觀看法是：

在乎中頻的，LP比CD容易好聽；
在乎超高頻與超低頻的，CD比LP容易好聽；

在乎雜音與清晰的，CD比LP容易好聽；
在乎『有味道的』，LP比CD容易好聽；

至於真的要講究『進階級』的 HI-FI 性能，兩個都一樣難以好聽，各有各的強項與『現實問題』。所謂的『現實問題』最簡單的講法就是：

錄音不夠頂級的唱片，通常LP遠遠大勝CD；
現代最頂級的錄音唱片，只有CD而沒有LP；

老大師只好找LP，現代高手只好找CD；不過我一定要強調，所謂現代高手『遠比不上』老大師這種事情其實非常非常非常非常.....非常罕見！....:D

所以我個人認為玩LP有兩個很大的『入門陷阱』得克服：

第一個就是：只聽到中頻，從而找不到真正錄音頂級的LP。
第二個就是：容易以『好古非今』的態度來造成欣賞音樂的偏差....:o

對於psycho的以上論述, 我有一點意見.

超高頻, LP比CD 容易好聽, 可以找有三角鐵或鈸的錄音來做比較就知道, 如: OPUS 3 CYNDEE PETERS 所唱的 "THE HOUSE OF RISING SUN." 其原因, 很簡單, CD的高頻極限就是22.05kHz, 頻譜分析可以看見很多黑膠的高頻可以超過22.05kHz.

至於超低頻，CD比LP容易好聽, 主要原因在於即使理想的唱臂的共振點為8~12Hz, 不論如何, 唱臂就是有低頻共振的問題, CD則沒有.
