DSD 有何特別的設計理念？他回英國後回了一封 eMail，原文與大家分享！

The Ring DAC(tm) Board - How Does It Work?

After oversampling and digital filtering, the audio is re-encoded as 5 bits
of noise-shaped data and passed to the Ring DAC(tm) Board. Here the 5-bit
binary data is mapped onto the array of 48 latches and precision resistors
which are at the heart of the Ring DAC(tm) topology.



The mapping algorithm is carefully designed to avoid any mismatches between
the latches or resistors appearing as errors correlated with the signal,
ensuring excellent linearity, even at low signal level.

The latch outputs drive balanced currents through their associated precision
resistors which are combined by a balanced mix amplifier / filter stage. The
filter removes any unwanted images and switching artefacts, leaving
balanced, high-quality analogue signals.

上次 Weiss 大中國代理 Kent Poon 來 My-Hiend 音響室演講有說到，同一錄音製作成 multi-bit, 1-bit 或是 LP 在聽覺的味道都會不同，也都有個人喜好，但好的錄音還是最重要。技術上，DAC 內部其實並不一定是用消費者認知的 bit 數運作的，多少 bit，我認為是他們的商業機密，下次可以好好問問。

這張最常聽的 CD，音樂與音響性皆優，也是平常調音的工具片之一：
貝多芬小提琴協奏曲 · 謝霖 · 阿姆斯特丹大會堂管絃樂團，
從 1997 年有了極少量的 Philips 日本版 24 bit format 壓製成 CD，
沒多久就成了絕版，等待了 17 年 ...
白天剛收到簡訊通知，今晚專程去買 Esoteric SACD/CD 母帶由 Decca 授權重新製作版本。
終於有 SACD 版本了，此片還多加了 貝多芬羅曼史 1 號 與 2 號，
在我的系統聽全面優於 CD 版，Bravo！非常、非常感謝！

掃圖還真的是學問，國外討論區都還有專門討論掃圖的各項參數。我目前是先掃成PDF，再用PDF轉BMP，再調亮度，對比，gamma值，再轉JPG
不知道Eton大有沒有掃圖的訣竅，可以容弟偷學一兩招

John925兄，我的 CD 唱片封面掃圖訴求很單純，只是個 "翻拍" 的想法 - 接近原圖。CD 封面是印刷品，細看甚至有網點，要求比原圖更好是不合理的投資，在電腦顕示器或 iPad 上看到比原 CD 封面更大仍然保有原圖細節，甚至到 LP 封面一樣大就非常震撼了。
1. 用 300 dpi 掃圖，接近 Apple 宣布的 326 ppi Retina 顯示器視網膜無法單獨分辨單一像素的解析度。
2. 掃圖時直接存成 jpg 檔，大約 700KB ~ 1MB，還不算是太消耗硬碟容量。如果是有帶 Tag 區域的音檔，是每首 3～4 分鐘CD 規格無壓縮音檔，把圖檔掛入每首歌曲約 2% 的硬碟空間，應該是合理的容量使用。
3. 掃描器看品牌及驅動軟體，我的是 Epson 4990 (老機器了），我在軟體上 （Apple iMac 內建），可直接預覧，調整亮度、對比、色調，勾選自動去麈之類的也很好用。
原則上，我傾向 "一次到位" 掃描 CD 封面圖檔的作法。極少數機會，可能那天人龜毛到了，看不順眼原封面上的折痕、磨損，就會去用 Photoshop 修補。
