Linn Kandid brings a new standard in excellence. 40 years after the introduction of the Linn Sondek LP12, Linn are delighted to announce the arrival of the best sounding cartridge they have ever made.
One of the key performance improvements comes as a result of removing the cartridge housing – probably also the most striking aesthetic difference Linn have made to Kandid. Stripping back the housing to expose the motor assembly has resulted in an even purer, cleaner sound than ever before.
More accurate audio reproduction is achieved thanks to the repositioning of the stylus and cantilever within the body of the cartridge. The angle of the magnets and coil in the front pole piece has been off-set so that they are parallel when the record is playing which ensures perfect alignment for accurate movement on the record.
Kandid is the perfect partner for the Linn Ekos SE tonearm. The chassis is machined from the same aircraft grade aluminium as the Linn Ekos SE headshell and features their 3-point mount for completely rigid and accurate coupling with the tonearm.

Linn’s production capacity for Linn Kandid cartridges is limited and as we anticipate very high demand for this product, the lead time for delivery could be up to 6 months, so it’s advisable to place orders as soon as possible.

The standard Litz cable supplied is of oxygen-free, high purity copper. A high-purity silver version is also available.
The cable assembly uses 5 independent strands, permitting true balanced signal transmission to be accomplished.
Connections to the cartridge are made by gold-plated lugs, and connection to the audio system via a precision 5-way Lemo connector, and then to the connector box, which have RCA or XLR connectors.

右邊的那套是意大利作曲家Ferdinando Paer寫的Leonora。這和貝多芬寫的費黛禮奧有什麼關係呢？哈！Paer先用類似的劇本（對白當然不同了）寫了這齣歌劇，貝多芬不但看過這齣歌劇，他還有這齣歌劇的總譜咧！那麼貝多芬有沒有受到影響呢？有些橋段（不是音樂）還挺相近的。Paer的配樂比較簡單，音樂比較沒貝多芬那麼嚴肅。一開始的花腔女高音的獨唱就很迷人。Edita Grubenrova是很有名的花腔女高音，我猜不少人都有她的唱片。
有趣的是：這兩套都是巴伐利亞樂團演出的，這真的蠻巧的。

This full Kondo system was my best sound at MOC. I got chills and was fully involved in the sound.
I was visiting 4 different places - MOC, Hifideluxe, hotel Kempinski and Zellaton showroom.
A lot of bad sounds this year - 95% of the systems at the shows sounded like shit, bright, hifi-like and uninvolving. Some of them reminds me of low-fi sound.

Headshell
OMA's graphite headshell may be the first of its kind. Other companies have made headshells out of exotic carbon fiber and graphite compounds. These are composed of graphite particles or carbon fibers, in a matrix of resins. No other company has carved a headshell out of true crystalline graphite, the hardest and most durable form of graphite, which is composed of a lattice of graphite crystals. We developed the OMA graphite headshell using the same type of graphite from which our turntable mat is made, only an even harder, higher density grade (the best obtainable.) The headshell is a single piece of graphite, with no joints to create boundary reflections. Graphite is unparalleled at damping resonances and vibrations, allowing the cartridge to track the groove with minimal interference. OFC leads are included, along with a variety of mounting hardware. Azimuth is fully adjustable via a set screw easily accessed from the top of the headshell. Weight (with cartridge leads but without screws) 12.65 grams, ideal for medium to low compliance cartridges with arms like the Schick. This is the finest headshell available anywhere at any price.
