胡佛水壩 Hoover Dam
千萬年以來，科羅拉多河從科羅拉多的落磯山脈，通過 1400 英哩的流程，奔流到加尼福尼亞灣。無數的人、植物和動物都依靠它的水生存。
每年春季及夏季，溶雪流入河中，供應大量的河水，但也使沿岸低地氾濫成災，生命、農作物及財產遭受嚴重損失。到了夏末初秋，河流乾涸得祇剩一條細流，無法引用來灌溉。因此，為了保障較低的下游平地不遭淹沒，和保證全年穩定的供水量，必須要控制這條河流。
在控制這條河流之前，河水必須要平均分配給它所流過的七各州。在 1992 年，每州各派一位代表與聯邦政府開會討論這個問題，達成了科羅拉多河協議，並於 1922 年七月簽署。該協議將科羅拉多河流域分為上下游，各得每年河水估計流量的一半。而每一半如何分配，則由上下游所屬各州自行決定。
該協議未在科羅拉多河建築水壩和運送設施奠定了基礎。在 1928 年，國會通過了巨石峽谷工程法案〈Boulder Canyon Project Act〉，授權建築胡佛水壩。
胡佛水壩是史無前例的水壩，也是當年最大的水壩，至今仍然是世界知名的建築，水壩位於內華達州和亞利桑那州之間的黑色峽谷，已被定為國家歷史名勝和國家土木工程歷史名勝。在1994 年，美國土木工程學會把它列為美國七大現代土木工程奇蹟之一。
胡佛水壩始建於 1931 年，最後一次澆灌混凝土為 1935 年，比預定計劃提前兩年。羅斯福總統於 1935 年 9 月 30 日主持落成典禮。發電結構部分於1936 年完工。第一台發電機組於同年 10 月開始運作。而最後一台〈也就是第十七台〉發電機組則於 1961 年投入商業運作。
胡佛水壩的蓄水庫〈稱為米德湖 Lake Mead〉，是全美國最大的人工水庫。米德湖以當時開墾局長〈Reclamation Commissioner〉艾伍‧米德〈Dr. Elwood Mead〉博士命名，可以儲存 2 千 6 百 50 萬畝呎〈8.6 兆加崙〉的水，或約相等於兩年的河水平均流量！一畝呎的水可以把一個足球場淹至一英呎的深度。
胡佛水壩是以美國第 31 任總統赫伯特‧胡佛〈Herbert Hoover〉命名的。胡佛水壩又稱為巨石水壩〈Boulder Dam〉。美國國會在 1947 年將水壩永久定名為胡佛水壩。胡佛總統當年強烈支持在科羅拉多河上建築一個高大的水壩以控制河流，為附近農田提供灌溉，並為南加州各城市提供可靠的水源，胡佛總統並主張建壩的資金來源應該完全來自胡佛水壩所發的電力。
胡佛水壩提供了包括拉斯維加斯、洛杉磯、聖地牙哥、鳳凰城、吐桑、及其他西南部的城鎮及在亞利桑那州、內華達州、及加州等州內的印地安人社區的居民及商業用水！
胡佛水壩所發出的電力可供應內華達州、亞利桑那州及加州等地。每年胡佛水壩所產生超過四十億千瓦小時的電力足夠一百五十萬人使用。
水壩除了控制了水流，米德湖也成為了美國最受歡迎的休閒地點之一。每年都有九百萬人來米德湖游泳、乘船、滑雪和釣魚。湖的本身及附近地區均由國家公園管理局管理。範圍包括了胡佛水壩下游的莫哈湖〈Lake Mohave〉。
除了聖誕節及感恩節兩天之外，胡佛水壩每天均有導遊帶領觀光團參觀水壩，時間是早上 8:30 分至下午 5:45 分〈太平洋標準時間〉，一個新的訪客中心設有影片放映廳及多媒體互動展覽供遊客使用，從訪客中心上的瞭望台可以看到水壩、米德湖及水壩下的黑色峽谷，景色令人嘆為觀止！
胡佛水壩位於 93 號州際高速公路上，內華達州及亞利桑那州交界處，距離拉斯維加斯東南方大約 30 英哩。

McChicken通常都會在Dollar Menu上，一個才一塊美元。一家4口吃到飽也花不到10塊錢。我們開車出去玩，要是在高速公路上肚子餓了就找麥當勞(blush)
從Las Vegas到Hoover Dam路上很荒涼。其實從LV出去，到那裡都一樣荒涼。沙漠嘛！有得吃喝，上廁所，就很偷笑了:D

麥當勞的好處不是在好不好吃。麥當勞的品質畫一（不用擔心換一家味道不對），在美國路上很容易找的到（特別是加油站附近），這才是重點。趕路的時候，能少停一下，就少停一下。
如果有Subway，當然是很好。可惜大部份都在shopping mall裡，路邊比較不好找。

一早就先來到Dan D'Agostino的展房，這是近兩年非常火紅的新品牌
由Krell原設計師Dan D'Agostino自己名字推出的品牌
品牌當然以最出名的後級為首發產品
在Dan D'Agostino旁邊的正是剛推出的黑色版本
會有黑色版本的推出是因為有用家需求，價格方面原本應該黑色特訂的要比較高
不過在標準銀色的版本稍為漲價之後，兩個顏色的價格現在是一樣的

就在CES展前，Wilson Audio發佈新的旗艦Alexandria XLF誕生
不過原來的Series 2仍然是繼續生產
這次雖然有展出，不過是靜態展出，若要聽則要在展後到Wilson Audio聽
不過看了實品與經過Wilson Audio人員的解釋，才知道XLF比Series 2精進的地方
現場擺兩隻喇叭，猜猜那一隻是XLF，那一隻是Series 2?
乍看起來幾乎是一模一樣，不過仔細瞭解後，其實兩者有很大的不同
照片因為是廣角拍的，所以其實左邊是XLF，比較大隻
XLF的體積大上一些，低頻的容積比Series 2大上14%，整體箱體的曲線也因為更大而更加完美

Marten: 買到Django就像買到Coltrane 2
這次展覽讓我最興奮之一的就是應該是臺灣第一個能聽到Marten Django的人了
Django發表的新聞一出來可說是引起不少的震撼
因為Marten居然能推出如此的落地喇叭價格又是這麼平易近人
我還特地問了Marten設計者Leif是不是Made in Sweden...答案當然是
Leif說為了讓更多喜歡Marten的人可以負擔的起
因此推出Django，Django不屬於目前Marten任何系列之一，是完全獨立的產品系列
Leif表示Django的設計就是Coltrane 2的翻板(如分音器設計一樣，只是用料不同)
也就是說買到Django就等於有買到Coltrane 2的意味在了
真是喜歡Marten朋友的福音
當然Django在用料沒有Coltrane 2那麼好
不過也相當好了，包括跟挪威SEAS訂作的低音單體與德國Accuton的陶瓷中音與高音單體
箱體從碳纖維改為MDF，單隻重達近50KG，非常紮實有份量
內部為Jorma Design的配線

Q7是Magico Q系列最新的旗艦喇叭，單隻就重達340Kg，真難想像這對喇叭要怎麼搬，這次現場有展示發聲
Q7看起來就像是Q5的放大版，當然結構上與外觀上有些設計上的調整，其結構的複雜程度也超乎想像
使用超過100個零件與650個以上的接合點
Q7聽起來也是Q5的放大版，現場相對於Q7來說空間不大，低頻量有點過多

The No 52 is quite simply the finest Mark Levinson preamplifier ever. It is an all-analog, true
dual-monaural design with a two-chassis configuration that separates the critical analog audio
circuitry from the control section to maintain the purest signal paths possible.
The No 52 provides a comprehensive complement of inputs including three balanced XLR and
four unbalanced RCA line-level inputs, and a dedicated phono input that is selectable for
moving coil (MC) or moving magnet (MM) operation. Two sets of XLR and RCA stereo
preamplifier outputs are provided, along with an auxiliary pair of XLR and RCA outputs that
can be configured for fixed or variable level output with independent source selection. This
enables the auxiliary outputs to function either as a third preamp out, a pass-through
full-range subwoofer output or a record output.
The No 52 offers a unity gain SSP (surround sound processor) output that provides the ability

還記得大約兩年前的CES上，Hansen展出旗艦Grand Master搭配Tenor的好聲獲得所有媒體的一致好評嗎？
不過Grand Master可能造型太特別不受到買家青睞
因此Hansen乾脆將Grand Master的技術運用在Emperor與Prince上，成為E的新版本
Emperor E與Prince E是整個重新調整，從外觀上最明顯的是多了一層皮革包覆
裡面則還是原來Hansen箱體的特殊材質
我問Hansen這是一個option選配嗎？
Hansen說這是標準配備
如果覺得這皮革的顏色太醒目，有黑色的可以選
另外還可看到在喇叭的後方多了一個高音，這也是跟Grand Master一樣的設計想法
今年Hansen依然跟好夥伴Tenor搭配，聲音也是讓我非常激賞
