今天全家出遊(吃吃喝喝,逛店買物)慶祝兒子17歲生日。在一個很大的shopping mall (Arundel Mills Mall) 裡有家Fye (賣CD, DVD,和 LP)。下面幾張是用手機拍的
大部份都是新唱片,一張的要價約莫和CD差不多($15上下)。可是有些CD(像幾張Guns‘N‘Roses的唱片)時間比較長,就分成兩張。當然,價錢也貴多了。音樂則完全是流行音樂,新的老的都有。

當然,這些唱片的數量和在同一個賣場的CD數量上來比,是沒義意的。但是,賣場願意花場地來擺這些商品,表示有需求。我還看到兩位相當年輕的小姐(大概20~30歲)在翻看那些唱片(不好意思偷拍啦!)。
PS:Arundel Mills 在 Fort Meade, Maryland北邊一點。Ft. Meade對很多人可能不代表什麼意義,要是我提這個地方是美國NSA (National Security Agency)的所在, 您大概就有點興趣了。 NSA倒底作什麼,您自個Google一下就知道了。
PPS:一個地方的名字前有個“Fort”, 表示這是以前或是現在駐軍的地方。

Engineered improvements to the inner clamping collet system have been devised, and these innovations are now entirely sheathed in energy dampening polymer materials. The DF-2 body and clamping mechanism are custom CNC machined, with highly accurate tolerances that enable a smooth, precise, and seamless functionality. The upper lock knob is milled with slots for grip and a killer new look created with the name machined into the top.
.....Unlike lesser designs, the DF-2 doesn't act only on the label area like some Neanderthal paper weight. The DF-2 eliminates any need for dangerous stylus crunching metal edge "rings". And, the DF-2 doesn't need parasitic vacuum pressure - unwanted suction that leaches the plasticizer right out of your LPs!
.....The DF-2 is superior, yet simple to use. First, the LP is raised above the platter surface via a small diameter polymer disc placed over the spindle. The record is set in place on the disc/platter, then the DF clamp is set atop the record. While holding the lower base with finger pressure, the upper DF clamp knob is turned. This initial rotation clamps the DF-2's inner collet tightly to the LP spindle, thereby locking the DF-2 to it vertically in space. Continued turning initiates the second differential clamping action - incrementing the base's raised lower outer rim downward against the label area's outer edge. This downward edge pressure flexes the LP's groove area downward. LP contact with the platter's surface starts at the LP's outer diameter, and then continues inward across the platter surface. The DF-2's high pressure LP fusion to the platter is applied in the proper area - the grooves themselves! The playback stylus sees a "platter thick" vibration free LP! The DF-2 also dissipates any platter shaft vibration in its polymer body. The playback quality of every LP in your collection will be transformed!

The Beatles’ Abbey Road Photo Shoot Outtakes
The Beatles’ iconic (and widely imitated) album cover Abbey Road shows all four band members walking across London’s Abbey Road. At that time The Beatles were recording the majority of their songs and albums at Abbey Road Studios (was then called EMI Studios). On August 8, 1969, Scottish photographer Iain MacMillan captured them simply walking across the street for the album’s cover. The shoot reportedly took just ten minutes but, as you can see, they had walked back and forth across the street before catching that now-famous image. Here is a gallery of outtakes from that legendary photo shoot.

IKEDA Sound Labs new KAI Reference MC cartridge is the highlight of over four decades of experiences in cartridge design.
The new KAI moving coil cartridge is the culmination of technology and craftsmanship to now represents his best efforts to date.
