Great Accessories in Music History: Mozart’s powdered wigs, Elton John’s sunglasses, The Ramones’ black leather jackets, Tommy Lee’s “third” drum stick, Kevin Federline. Now designers Min-guk Ji & Hong-joo Kim & In-oh Yoo & for Metatrend Institute have invented what could be the greatest music accessory since the groupie. The “Transparent OLED Headphones” (working title I’m assuming) are made from flexible OLED panels that allow the user to custom design a lighting show or patterns across your cranium. These custom designs can also be set to your current track or “color groove setting”, scroll any message texts or simply remain whatever color you’re feeling like that day. The left side button controls your sound functions while the right side button controls the light show. I think these headphones are so revolutionary they just may need a new segment name. How about HEADTRIPS? or EARGASMS? or maybe HEADBANDS?

USB Roll-on
Check out this USB flash drive designed for Adidas to give to their clients and friends. Color me jealous because I want one! It looks like a miniature roll-on suitcase with the eponymous three stripes. I’m not one for novel flash drives but I know there are collectors out there so do me a favor. If you somehow come across these flash drives, go ahead and grab an extra one for me will ya? Thanks, Love you.

Good gosh--it's kind of depressing to see a bathroom bigger and nicer than yours, located in an airplane. Granted it's not any old airplane, it's Lufthansa's new Airbus A380, in the First Class cabin:

Instead of just a washroom with a lavatory, First Class passengers will find a luxurious bathroom with wash and changing areas separated from the lavatory area. The room is well- equipped with various bath amenities and provides plenty of space to move around in.Of course the rest of the cabin doesn't look too shabby either, and the designers sought heavy customer input from Lufthansa's high rollers. The generously proportioned, open design and exclusive ambience with simple, distinct lines and subtle colours creates a light, appealing and inviting atmosphere. A concept with separate cabins was deliberately rejected because at numerous customer events, and during in-flight tests and surveys, Lufthansa passengers expressed a clear preference for an open-plan design. In order to adapt the new First Class concept to the actual needs of passengers, Lufthansa customers were substantially involved in its development. From the outset, their experiences and wishes were integrated into the design. A quiet atmosphere is one of the most important needs of First Class customers. Sound-absorbing curtains partition off the rest of the cabin, while special sound-insulating material in the aircraft's outer skin and sound-absorbing carpeting block footstep noise and ensure the world's quietest First Class cabin. The atmosphere soon lets passengers forget that they are travelling by air. Another important factor in customer comfort is the newly developed seat, which combines ergonomics and comfort and which can be extended to create the "best bed in its class". Measuring 2.07 metres in length and 80 centimetres in width, the comfortable bed offers plenty of room, enabling passengers to enjoy deep, relaxing sleep. The air humidification system -- the first of its kind to be installed on a commercial aircraft -- and the lighting concept, which adjusts according to the time of day, also contribute towards passengers' well-being on board.

On the A380, First Class passengers have an extraordinary amount of space. In the cabin, overhead bins were omitted in order to provide more headroom. Instead, each passenger has an individual closet, which is lockable, in addition to the generous storage facilities around the seat.

The “Biway” is an amazing vehicle concept from the Michelin Challenge Design 2010. It works in a way like this: the zero-emission public transportation individually acts as an electrical bus on city roads, but turns into a modern train on a fiber freeway when two or more are combined together. Each of the Biway has an onboard battery, which will get charged when the vehicle moves on the fiber freeway. More importantly, the passengers can switch the buses directly, therefore saving their time and energy.
