非常受到好評的美國Berkeley Audio Designs的Alpha DAC將要推出更新的版本Series 2了，其比現有的版本使用了更新的時鐘系統與隔離技術，在外觀方面與原來的Alpha DAC都一樣，只有在後方會有Series 2的標籤。根據Berkeley Audio Designs的Michael Ritter表示，新的Alpha DAC Series 2在結像精準度上大為提升，聲音更為純淨，解析也更好，在第1代已經這麼出色下，第2代更是讓人期待，更好的消息是因為全世界有足夠的數量，現在2代銀跟黑的價格都為USD 4,995 (上一代黑色較貴)。值得一提的是Berkeley Alpha USB介面目前仍只有黑色可選。Series 2預計兩個星期後左右可開始出貨，2011年6月後的Series 1可花USD 350升級。
