As downloading high resolution music gains popularity along with Music Streamers for playback, have you thought about where you store your music - your source component?

When the team from the German company Certon systems, sat down to design the integrita they had a single goal – to build the best sounding music server they could. integrita should be thought of as a source component – just like a CD player is.

Well, we think they’ve achieved that and some! Weighing in at over 10kgs, from the time you unpack integrita you can feel the quality and attention to detail. After all this is a hifi or home cinema component designed to merge with the rest of your equipment.

Behind the thick, anodised aluminium front panel lies a powerful server capable of distributing your stored media quickly and easily with no loss of fidelity. Acoustically damped casework, audio grade components and a specially designed, high performance fanless power supply means intergrita is completely silent – perfect for your listening room.

This is not just a NAS drive....

integrita features 5 hard drives, configured in what’s called a RAID 6 design for the very best in protection. This configuration means that in the unlikely event that not just one, but if two of the Super Silent, 24/7 AV certified drives should fail, all of your precious media is still kept safe.

Available with a high tech aluminum face plate, in either contemporary silver or minimalistic black, integrita is extremely easy to integrate into your setup.

Just connect integrita to your network (usually a router) via Gigabit Ethernet and copy your files to it. As the integrita is DLNA certified and comes with iTunes ans Twonky servers pre loaded it’s compatible with virtually all Music Streamers such as those from LINN and Naim, and for video playback even Smart TVs and games consoles!

About Certon Systems
Certon Systems was founded in 2005 as a spin-off of the University of Heidelberg to provide internally developed mass storage solutions for experiments at CERN in Geneva. Today Certon’s focus lies in the fields of imaging, engineering, forensics, HiFi and home AV helping its customers store, archive, share and stream important data securely. Certon Systems products, which are manufactured in Germany, are characterised by very high security and performance levels, as well as simple operation.

How does integrita... integrate?

In layman’s terms, integrita is a storage device for your music, video and any other media you wish to store.

For you to both store and access your media, you must connect integrita to your home network. Which is essentially connecting it to your router with an Ethernet cable.

The integrita will then appear on your computer as an external storage device which you can then transfer music and movies to using the ‘Save As’ or ‘Copy and Paste’ option. integrita comes loaded with iTunes and is DLNA certified, so copying existing music from your iTunes is extremely easy. DLNA allows integrita to be accessed by many different devices, not just dedicated music streamers. Other DLNA devices such as games consoles, smart phones and TVs can easily access media. And if you have a wifi enabled router, this can even be done wirelessly.

A useful feature is the USB and eSATA connections on the rear of the unit. You can simply plug in an existing hard drive and transfer your files directly into integrita.

The middle socket is the Gigabit Ethernet connection which can connect direct to your Streamer or network and is simple to set up by anyone without the need for any IT experience.

Ultimately, integrita was designed to work flawlessly with a music streaming device, such as a LINN DS, Naim NDS or a Cyrus Stream – high end streamers are deserving of a high end source.

What is RAID 6?

RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a storage technology that combines multiple disk drives into a single unit. Your data is saved across all of the drives in one of several ways called RAID levels. The level used is dependant upon level of security and performance required.

integrita comes with 5 internal hard disks configured at RAID level 6.

This means that if one drive should fail, then no problem your data is still perfectly safe but with RAID 6, even if two hard disks should fail at the same time, then all your precious data is still completely safe. The system will tell you which drive has failed and you simply pull it out and replace it.

What is DLNA?

DLNA stands for Digital Living Network Alliance and is an industry-wide standard for sharing data over a home network.

A DLNA enabled product is designed to intergrate with all other DLNA devices, such as your Music Streamer, TV or games console, so that sharing media over your home network is seamless.

If you have a router in your home then you have a network and can use DLNA products on it.

What is an iTunes server?

If you use iTunes as your media player, then integrita comes pre-loaded with iTunes Server software which allows you to store your music or other media on integrita and then use iTunes to easily play it back. Thus saving valuable hard drive space on your computer, but importantly gives you the security that your precious media is safe and sound!

What is a Twonky server?

Twonky Server software runs in the background and manages your media to ensure a seamless experience between devices. Twonky is embedded into integrita so media players like Windows Media Player and streaming hardware can easily find, communicate and play your media.
