Speakers Made From Recycled Paper

Check out the TAU speakers; made from recycled cardboard and paper finished in epoxy, the exotic shapes are an exploratory exercise in finding the simplest shape to provide maximum audio fidelity. The result is an organic form suspended on rods designed to hide the cables. I applaud the designer for pushing the envelope to create speakers that audiophiles and designers alike can appreciate.

The ‘Megaphones’ appear to be an eponym but they’re actually speakers. One of the ideas behind the Megaphones was to bring back “nobility” to the object: let’s replace the cheap electronics with hi-fi components. Let’s replace the plastic with wood but let’s keep the iconic shape. The final product is unique and has a distinct Dutch quality to it. Love the craftsmanship.

上週六看到這對, 非常漂亮 , 應該是壓克力的材質, 但是有水晶的透視質感.
價格30K +, 想買來當電腦喇叭, 不過體積不算小, 有些佔位.

The Kanto Morph speakers were originally designed by Alp Germaner for a competition but he missed the fine print about it being a “skin design” only and so it was relegated to languish in the dark corners of his hard drive – that is, until we got our hands on it. Look, for once it’s a design not about nostalgia. It’s not ostensibly minimalistic and it’s contemporary. Yes it’s an iPhone/iPod dock but who says all Apple peripherals have to look like Cupertino designed them? I applaud his aberrant design choices.

Don’t you have a love/hate relationship with your alarm clock? It’s probably one f the most reliable friends you’ll ever have yet we despise them. Error is the “little alarm clock that could.” To emphasize how annoying it is, Error looks like speaker tweeter. Now, it doesn’t necessarily function as a clock, but designer Niek de Kort wanted to create something that epitomizes the classic love/hate – happy/angry relationship, ultimately leading to Error’s destruction.
