Ness Ziona, Israel – June 2010 – Morel announces enhancements to its award-winning Octave Signature speaker series with better-than-ever sound engineering plus a user-empowering modular cabinet design.

Designed and built in Israel, improvements to Morel’s Octave Signature benefit from design techniques first seen in the company’s reference Fat Lady loudspeakers, including the highly unusual concept of allowing the enclosure to ‘sing’ with the music. By adopting an entirely empty cabinet with strategically placed partitions and no internal damping whatsoever, this new version provides an astonishing listening experience that delivers pure, deep bass and a massive soundstage with vibrant “life-like” performance at all volume levels.

Morel’s modular cabinet concept provides the listener with new “building-block” expandability options that allow easy whole system upgrading. Now the user who starts with the stylish, high-performance Octave Signature Bookshelf speakers for stereo sound can decide when to step up to the home theatre experience by adding matching subwoofers. The vertically designed subwoofers fit beautifully beneath the bookshelf monitors transforming them into floor-standing units.

Authentic 2-channel listening experience begins with the Octave Signature Bookshelf by transforming them from a discrete bookshelf system into a true, 3-way floor-speaker system with the addition of the modular Octave Signature Subwoofer. The built-in passive network in the Octave Signature Subwoofer creates a seamless transition to the Octave Signature Bookshelf. The crossover is set at 150Hz releasing the Octave Signature Bookshelf speaker of the need to reproduce deep bass thus improving power handling and allowing the midrange to sound more transparent.

The complete theatre system consists of a pair of the Octave Signature Bookshelf speakers with matching Octave Signature Subwoofers powered by Morel’s external, high-powered, multi-function Signature Amp-2100 stereo/mono amplifier. The Octave Signature Centre channel speaker and Octave Signature Bookshelves used as rear monitors for a true, 5.1 home theatre system simply excels in performance and value.

The heart of the Octave Signature Bookshelf and Centre is Morel's famous 5¼-inch bass/midrange driver, equipped with an enormous 3” voice coil inside of which is placed the magnet system. This unusually large voice coil configuration is three times larger than used in conventional drive units of this size. Bass output is therefore surprisingly deep and powerful, yet very articulate. The tweeter uses an Acuflex™ soft dome fitted with advanced high power neodymium magnets that contribute to its open and spacious sound, both on and off axis.

The Octave Signature Subwoofer consists of two 9" woofers in an isobaric configuration, which reduces the cabinet size by half for the same bass extension.

The Octave Signature’s powerful performance is showcased within a daring design of clean, contemporary elegance. The series is available in three stunning piano finishes – red, black or white.
